Mark G. Shell
Chief Information Officer
With over 22 years of experience in IT and 12 years in banking, Mark Shell brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as Chief Information Officer at Traditions Bank. Starting his career as a computer-integrated manufacturing engineer with Bosch Corporation in 1999, he transitioned to the banking industry in 2007, where he worked for a small credit union. Mark has obtained an MS in Finance, MS in Information Systems, and an MBA.
Mark Shell is a certified SCRUM Master, SCRUM Product Owner, and ITIL. His career accomplishments are equally impressive, including the creation of a Web Integrated Manufacturing System that is now standard in most manufacturing plants. In the credit union world, Mark spearheaded the creation of a suite of new checking account products, one of which was targeted to the underserved/underbanked who had poor credit and poor financial history. This effort was part of a DEIA initiative and helped to get people banked, specifically with the US Postal Service.
In addition to his career achievements, Mark was a founding member of TangerineFoundation.org, which aimed to provide financial literacy to the federal community.
Mark Shell’s favorite core value at Traditions Bank is “Real Relationships.” For him, real relationships provide a good foundation for the rest of the core values. When asked what “Make Your Mark” means to him, Mark said, “It’s the legacy one leaves behind; what impact did I have on someone’s life through the application of the core values.”
Outside of his career, Mark Shell plays hockey and is an avid fan of the sport. He’s recently started learning to play the guitar.
