Giving back to the communities we serve is a part of who we are. It makes our community stronger and each of us better. Nonprofits do work that truly matters, and we support their efforts. We’re proud to give back through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Since 2007, we have given $1,561,200.00 in EITC contributions to nonprofits in the York, Hanover, Capitol, and Lancaster regions.
The Educational Improvement Tax Credit program allows accepted businesses to take a credit against their state tax dollars for contributions made to qualifying nonprofits located in Pennsylvania. Recipients must be recognized as an Educational Improvement Organization (EIO), Opportunity Scholarship Organization (OSTC), or have a qualifying Scholarship Opportunity (SO) or Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship (PKTC) fund in place. In 2022, Traditions Bank was pleased to distribute a total of $290,000 in funds to 74 educational organizations to support them in fulfilling their missions.
