At Traditions Bank, giving back to our community is a part of who we are. This holiday season, help us support our local community through the Holiday of Hope campaign and the Christmas Emergency Fund.
Holiday of Hope – York Jaycees
Holiday of Hope is a signature project of the York Jaycees. Through a partnership with local service agencies, children from York County are invited to shop for winter clothing, coats, boots, and other necessities. After they shop, they are treated to a breakfast with Santa. This program has supported children in our community for more than 50 years.
How Can I Help? Bring unwrapped new toys (for girls and boys aged newborn to 16 years) or monetary donations to any of our branches before Wednesday, December 6.
About the York Jaycees
The York Jaycees is a not-for-profit, leadership training organization that focuses on community service. It’s open to all young men and women, ages 21 to 41, residing in the greater York, Pennsylvania area. They are a chapter of the Pennsylvania Jaycees, the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce and Junior Chamber International (JCI), a global organization.
Christmas Emergency Fund – Not One More York PA
Each holiday season, the York Daily Record offers readers the opportunity to help our community through the Christmas Emergency Fund.
The beneficiary of this year’s fund is Not One More, a local chapter of a group that formed as a result of the opioid epidemic that has taken the lives of so many.
The group offers support services for families struggling with addiction, it holds public events to raise awareness about heroin addiction, and it provides financial support to help those in recovery.
Traditions Bank has long partnered with YDR in this effort, accepting donations mailed in by readers, accounting for the funds and disbursing them — all free of charge so every penny goes back to the sponsored organization.
How Can I Help? Checks can be mailed to: YDR Christmas Emergency Fund C/O Traditions Bank, 226 Pauline Drive, York, PA 17402-0136. To donate online: Visit www.notonemoreyorkpa.org and click on the “Donate” button. Please click on “Write a note” and type “Christmas Emergency Fund” so they can account for your donation.
About Not One More York PA
Not One More is a grassroots effort to provide awareness, education and support to those affected by drug abuse and addiction. Their goals is to inspire young people to stay drug-free and be a role model to the people around them; to shake loose the stigma that may keep parents from reaching out for help when this dark shadow hangs over their family; to know that they are not alone and do not have to deal with these things on their own; to place a loving, compassionate arm around our addicts and the people that love them, and to help raise them out of the dark and into a place of light, recovery and peace; to help fill the gap between what our state, county, cities and schools provide for services and what our community needs; and to work in conjunction with other government officials and other community-based organizations aimed at preventing, dealing with, and educating our community about the dangers of drugs in our cities and towns.
