Deep connections key to successful entry into Lancaster

Traditions Bank announces the addition of Michael Frey, Michael Bunn, Hans Abendschoen, Kaylee Rickard, Eric Shetrompf, and Jessica Graham to its staff. Along with Thomas Sposito, who joined Traditions Bank in June 2020, this team of experienced bankers leads the bank’s expansion efforts into Lancaster County, beginning with an office at 1687 Oregon Pike near the Route 30 intersection. They are joined by Traditions Mortgage Partner David Fuchs, who will offer residential mortgage services. The Oregon Pike location is the bank’s seventh full-service retail branch and is slated to open the week of April 19.

“Exciting things are on the horizon,” noted Eugene Draganosky, President and CEO. “We feel fortunate to have attracted the depth of experience and relationship-oriented talent to our team to lead our growth into Lancaster County. Each of these associates is a cultural fit for our organization, with a genuine commitment to our core values and customer-centric approach to serving the individuals and businesses in our communities.”

Michael Frey, Market Leader, brings over 30 years in leadership experience, including banking and various entrepreneurial private enterprise roles. Mr. Frey began his banking career with the former CoreStates Bank and progressed to President and COO at Union National Community Bank. Frey also served as President of Ranck Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, and Chief Customer Officer at The Wenger Group. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Frey has deep community connections.

“Over the years, I’ve learned it’s all about the culture,” shared Frey. “Living out the culture translates into relationships. The founders built the bank on that, and each associate reflects that. It’s great to be a part of an organization where the real decision-making happens right here where we live.”

Michael Bunn, Commercial Banking Executive, has over 20 years of banking experience throughout Central PA, including leadership positions with Metro Bank, Bryn Mawr Trust, and S&T Bank. Mr. Bunn’s leadership, business development, credit analysis, and middle-market lending experience will help the bank build on this newly expanded market opportunity. Bunn earned a degree in finance from Kutztown University and an MBA from Penn State University.

“This bank has a tremendous story to tell,” remarked Bunn. “It’s a people-first organization that has grown in York County by sticking to its roots. I feel really honored to be a part of it and to help extend our value proposition to new regions.”

Bunn and Frey will work closely with each other to drive growth in the Lancaster Market. They both report to Tom Sposito, Strategic Revenue Officer.

Hans Abendschoen, Retail Sales Manager, joined the Traditions Bank team in December 2020. Mr. Abendschoen has more than 20 years of retail banking and financial services experience, most recently as York Retail Area Manager with Northwest Bank. Before the Northwest/Union Community Bank merger, Abendschoen was Retail Community Market Manager, with branch leadership and sales responsibilities in Lancaster County.

Kaylee Rickard, Oregon Pike Branch Manager, has eleven years of retail banking and financial services experience. Before joining Traditions Bank, Ms. Rickard was AVP, Community Banking Manager with S&T Bank. Kaylee’s passion for her customers and the community, in addition to her knowledge of the Lancaster market, undoubtedly makes her an excellent choice to lead this retail team. Rickard reports to Hans Abendschoen.

Eric Shetrompf, Senior Universal Banker, and Jessica Graham, Universal Banker, round out the retail team. Shetrompf brings an ideal mix of banking, management, customer service, and cash handling experience. Graham has over ten years in the industry, including head teller and personal banking experience.

David Fuchs, Mortgage Partner, joined Traditions Mortgage – a division of Traditions Bank in May 2019. Born and raised in Lancaster County, Fuchs began his mortgage career in 2010, serving home buyers’ needs in Lancaster and surrounding areas. He originally joined Traditions Bank because of the mortgage division’s excellent reputation and the ability to offer a wide variety of mortgage solutions. Fuchs will serve his Lancaster customers from the Oregon Pike office.

“There is an amazing depth to this team,” said Thomas Sposito, Strategic Revenue Officer. “I’ve known many of these professionals for decades. Their connections in the area and knowledge of the industry are key to a successful entry into Lancaster County. They will help us bring our promise of exquisite service to a whole new community of individuals and businesses, and I’m super excited about that.”
