2024 Her Traditions Scholarship Recipients Announced

Share

Since 2011, Traditions Bank has proudly awarded 85 scholarships through our Her Traditions Scholarship Program, dedicated to supporting local women who demonstrate exceptional leadership. Beyond academic excellence and meaningful community service, each scholarship recipient has assumed significant leadership roles within their schools and organizations. Celebrating women in leadership is crucial to inspiring both current recipients and the next generation of women leaders.

Scholarship Program Expansion

“We are thrilled to continue fostering leadership development among young women through our Her Traditions Scholarship program,” said Suzanne Becker, Executive Administrative Officer. “This year, thanks to our new Her Traditions Scholarship CD, we have expanded both the number and dollar amount of the awards. We are honored to present four $1,500 scholarships and six $750 scholarships to these exceptional young women.”

The Her Traditions Scholarship CD is an innovative banking product that not only supports women but also allows customers to earn interest while contributing to the program at no cost to them. Traditions Bank will contribute 0.01% of the collective balance of deposits in this special CD to the Her Traditions Scholarship fund. The dollars available for the 2025 program will depend on deposits received into the Her Traditions Scholarship CD from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024, up to a maximum award amount of $10,000.

Sharing Insights

Illustrating the profound impact of a Her Traditions scholarship, we are privileged to share insights from each recipient about their aspirations and the importance of supporting women. “As a woman of color, I recognize the lack of role models in my chosen field,” remarked Rebecca Diaz. “I aspire to be a trailblazer so that others can seek guidance from my experience.” Diaz emphasizes that “women in leadership create opportunities for themselves.”

Through their academic achievements and community contributions, Rebecca and nine other emerging female leaders are shaping their own futures. Traditions Bank is honored to contribute to their journey toward achieving their dreams.
